Job Description
Key Accountabilities:
- Monitoring compliance for assigned Departments or product lines based on compliance monitoring programme
- Reviewing CDD/KYC information on new accounts to ensure compliance with local laws, Group policies and applicable international requirements
- Conducting legal research related to all aspects of the business of the FamGuard Group of Companies using the most suitable resources and providing accurate and appropriate research memorandums
- Preparing for Court matters and attending Court as needed
- Addressing legal queries as assigned
- Reviewing departmental policies and procedures as instructed and providing advice on same
- Providing divisional risk management support for assigned divisions/functions
- Working with analytical tools and processes to support the setting and monitoring of risk tolerances in the assigned divisions which are consistent with risk limits
Knowledge & Skills:
- Minimum of 3 years Call to the Bahamas Bar with three years’ litigation experience
- Ability to work quickly and accurately and to cope with large volumes of work
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
- Organizational and administrative skills (e.g. capable of setting and meeting realistic time frames for competing assignments and achieving results; capable of operating independently with minimal direction while keeping the leader informed of variances to plan, potential problems or sensitive issues, etc.)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong technical skills in word processing software, Excel, electronic messaging etc.
